A small shed was lofted out of its yard and became entangled in utility lines 30 yards to the northeast. Notes: This weak tornado did tree damage as it briefly touched down along Mount Pleasant Road northwest of Bedford, snapping upper-level tree branches in a narrow path. Next, an office building that was under construction was lifted off of its foundation. SPC gives a path width of 10 yards, NCDC and Grazulis give nothing. Damage totaled $1,500,000 as 500 homes were destroyed, along with two schools and many other buildings. There was also some shingle damage to some of the buildings near the high school track. Warwick Distillery at Silver Creek lost its roof. At the end of Earl Jones Road the tornado destroyed one cinder block and wood barn and damaged the roof of another, scattering debris several hundred yards. Counties: LaRue Several residents reported a loud roar, their ears popped, and there was zero visibility in torrential rain when the storm struck. F-scale: F1 Accounts of tornadoes or tornado-like winds have been noted throughout English history back to around 1,000 AD. Ten buildings were destroyed on a farm. May 25, 2011 Path length: 3.2 miles Counties: Lincoln Notes: A small tornado traveled from northwest of Cyclone to south of Cyclone, damaging a few buildings and felling trees. This location suffered the worst damage with gutters, siding, and soffits ripped from buildings and deposited 30 yards away in trees.
